Draping workshop by James Ferreira.
On the 26th & 27th of November, ace designer James Ferreira conducted a two day workshop on his signature styles of draping for the students of Modart and for a few designers who wanted to hone their skills of draping. Starting with the simple technique of draping to his signature envelop style of draping based on a very Indian method of cutting a churdhar, James guided the students on the finer nuances of draping. Incorporating Indian techniques such as the drawstring, and twisting fabric’s James emphasized that the way to go forward in fashion and to given design an original Indian touch, young student designers must fall back on the rich culture of India which is so unique and diverse.
